While preparing to launch Where We Touch, I've taken a moment to calculate how many hours of massage I have offered over the past 30 years. From my professional training at the Swedish Institute in NYC, to my years of private practice in Manhattan, England, Dryden and Ithaca, along with my work at Cornell University, I have provided over 30,000 hours of hands-on healing with clients. It kind of takes my breath away.
What an extraordinary privilege it is to hold other human beings as they journey through this life. The intimate connections, the moments of relief, the sorrow, the pain, the transitions, the beginnings, the endings...all of these are felt by the body...all are these are felt by my hands as I listen.
Years ago I had a client in England reflect to me, during a session, that she felt as though her life was a book, written in Braille, and that somehow I was able to read her story and help her remember parts she had long forgotten.
I hope Where We Touch offers you a brief window into this sacred work I have practiced for nearly half my life. In sharing the moments of my own journey, I hope you will find inspiration and moments of reflection and renewal.
Thanks for joining me.
Judy
